Quiet Whisper

There will come a day in your life when you feel a tugging at your heart. A request will be made. Whispering quietly. And it waits. Waiting for a response or rejection. You can put it off for as long as you like. You can act as if it’s not there. But it’s there. It’s there when you go to bed at night. It’s there when you wake up. It’s there when your distracted. And it is there when your mindful. Maybe it’s an action waiting to be taken. Maybe it’s words settling in your soul. There is a topic needing to be broached. And it won’t let you go.

And then you fight it for awhile. And you wonder what others will think of you. If you step out and do what you feel your supposed to do. You feel vulnerable. But your asked to share your soul. Your asked to breach that topic. So you do it. You write what’s been lingering and what won’t let you go. And then something incredible happens. You feel such an incredible release. You did it. You were brave. You trusted. You listened and you did what was right.

I love writing in every way shape and form. But I didn’t know that I would use it in this way. And that’s just how God works in our lives .. sometimes quite unexpectedly.  But unexpected in a wonderful way. Like an old friend stopping by for a surprise visit, with a token of love that just happens to be your favorite candy or mug. The visit that always lifts your spirit and points out all of the wonderful things about you that you had long forgotten. A friend that reminds you of all the incredible journeys you have been on together. And suddenly your reminded and filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude for all that this friend has been to you. For all of the times of clear protection, support, and unconditional love.

God is that old friend that knows us inside out. And if you invite him in every once in awhile he will curate all that’s good in you. He can take your talents and point you in the right direction to use it for good.

But you have to decide. Decide to get quiet and still so you can hear that voice. Give it the same attention you give to every other aspect in our life. Maybe even more! Remember your not just a body but a soul. What you nuture grows so give it what it needs. Find what feeds it. Find out what makes you want to be a better person today than you were yesterday. Whatever you can contribute to society whether great or small it still matters. Doing what you feel your supposed to do is the first step. And if you only reach one person who needed what you have to say..it mattered.
